This recipe could not be easier! I have a BIG sweet tooth and so whenever I have a cup of tea I always find myself reaching for the biscuits. I wanted to try and find something that would satisfy my sweet tooth but at the same time wasn’t bad for me. Queue these raw date and nut squares. The dates in these squares give them a real sweet and chewy texture and combined with the maple syrup definitely take away any sweet cravings. And the nuts give it a crunchy texture and work really well with the other flavours. These squares are really good for you – full of fibre and minerals. It literally took a few minutes to make too which is always a good thing!
Handful of almonds
Handful of pumpkin seeds
Handful of dates
Drizzle of maple syrup or honey
1 tsp of almond butter
1 tsp of peanut butter
Method: Put all of this in a food processor and mix. Once it forms a doughy paste, take it out, shape into squares and place in the freezer for half an hour. Remove to the fridge and snack on!
